Ramshorn Snail Care Guide

Tank Requirements:

• Size: A minimum of 5 gallons is recommended to provide adequate space.
• Water Conditions: Maintain a pH between 7.0 and 7.5, and a temperature range of 70-78°F.
• Substrate: Any substrate is suitable, but fine sand or smooth gravel can prevent shell damage.

Diet:

• Feeding: Ramshorn snails are great algae eaters and will also appreciate blanched vegetables such as zucchini, cucumber, and spinach. Supplement with algae wafers or sinking pellets as needed.
• Frequency: Feed every 2-3 days, ensuring not to overfeed to avoid excessive waste and poor water quality.

General Care:

• Cleaning: Ramshorn snails contribute to tank cleanliness by eating algae, waste, and decaying plant matter. Regular tank maintenance, including water changes, is still necessary.
• Compatibility: Peaceful community tank inhabitants; compatible with non-aggressive fish and other snails. Avoid tankmates that might prey on snails, such as large cichlids or loaches.

Health Tips:

• Shell Health: Add calcium supplements or include calcium-rich foods to promote strong shell growth.
• Monitoring: Regularly check for signs of overcrowding and manage their population by removing some snails if necessary.
