Description & Care Guide:
Corydoras Catfish are small, peaceful bottom-dwelling fish that are loved for their charming appearance and excellent tank-cleaning abilities. These armored catfish are covered with bony plates and have whisker-like barbels around their mouths. Corydoras are highly social and should be kept in schools of at least 4-6 fish to feel secure and exhibit natural behavior. They are great for community tanks due to their peaceful temperament and are ideal for scavenging uneaten food from the substrate, making them helpful in maintaining water quality.

Wild Habitats/Origins:
Corydoras Catfish are native to the slow-moving rivers, streams, and floodplains of South America, particularly in countries like Brazil, Peru, and Colombia. These waters often have sandy or muddy substrates, dense vegetation, and a gentle current. Corydoras thrive in environments with stable water conditions and plenty of hiding spots, which allow them to scavenge for food and avoid predators.

Fun Fact:
Corydoras are known for their unique "schooling" behavior and can often be seen "dancing" along the substrate in groups. They are also famous for their ability to "walk" along the bottom with their pectoral fins, much like small land creatures, making them a fascinating and entertaining fish to watch.
