Group/Solitary: Best kept in groups of 6 or more

Water Requirements: 72-82°F, pH 5.5-7.5, soft to moderately hard water
Care Instructions
Orange Von Rio Tetras thrive in well-maintained, densely planted aquariums with a soft substrate and gentle water flow. A tank of at least 15 gallons is suitable for a small school, but larger groups will feel more secure and display more natural behavior. Floating plants and driftwood help create shaded areas and replicate their natural habitat.
Being a shoaling species, they feel most comfortable in groups of at least six, which reduces stress and encourages vibrant coloration. Their active nature makes them fun to watch as they dart through plants and explore the tank.
Their diet should consist of a variety of high-quality flakes or micro pellets, supplemented with live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Feeding small amounts twice a day helps maintain their bright coloration and overall health.
Orange Von Rio Tetras are peaceful and get along well with other small, non-aggressive species like tetras, rasboras, corydoras, and dwarf gouramis. Avoid housing them with larger or more aggressive fish that might intimidate them or compete for food.
Fun Fact: Male Orange Von Rio Tetras develop more intense red and orange hues during breeding, while females tend to have a rounder body shape.
